vegas baby

Can anyone say.... "SECOND PLACE??"
Because I know I can!
I can also say "Man, I love soccer." Like 50 billion times too.

I just had THE best weekend with my most FAVORITE people ever.
To kick off our 2014 spring soccer season, my team and I traveled to Las Vegas for our 6th and final Mayor's cup tournament. What a trip it was.

We have only practiced (in a pathetic gym) five times. And in the past, we've sucked at this tournament. So bad that we've never won a single game. Ever. So I guess you could say that we came into this thing with pretty low expectations. And right before every game I would repeat to myself, just have fun just have fun just have fun. BECAUSE I tend to get really worked up if we don't do so hot... BUT I think that's why it made our success so much more enjoyable. We were surprising ourselves with every game and just having fun! (reverse psychology? i dunno, maybe)

So here's how it went.
++First game++
We tied at zero against this team from Milwaukee. Played really well for our very first game of the season. Mom told me to turn my bull-dog on. It was freak-a-leaking hot.. but I like it like that.

++Game Two++
It started at 8:20 at night. I love night games. We won 2-0. I turned on my bull-dog like mom asked and it worked. I played way good. It was definitely one to be proud of.

++Third Game++
Quarter Finals. By this point we were all a little surprised that we hadn't lost yet. GO US. This was a hard game. Played in the midday dead heat. I wanted to die. This game ended in a 1-1 tie so we had to go to a sudden death shootout (not good for the nerves) and I was first on the roster to kick (also not good on the nerves). But I made mine! And the rest of my team made theirs too! (sweet hallelujah) so we won and were on to the semi finals! (what the heck?? direct quote from myself).

++Game Four++
We played this very same team last year at this very same tournament. And they beat us pretty bad. So I was out for vengance and it showed. This was probably my best game of the tournament. OUR best game of the tournament. We won 2-0 and I assisted both goals. It was such a fun game! We completely dominated the whole time and the other team was getting so frustrated. It was awesome haha. So yet again we were pretty astonished as we moved on to the finals. THE FREAKING FINALS.

++The Fifth Game++
It was at 1 o'clock. I had no energy left. We were all so exhausted. And 35 minutes is a really long time after four games. Seriously. We lost 8-0 to Canadian boys trapped in girls bodies. Hahahaha! Man it still makes me laugh at how ridiculous that was. But hey, I didn't even care. We got second place!

So that's the story. I love my team so freaking much! And I love soccer so freaking much!!! We played soooo well this weekend (im so proud of myself) and I'm so stoked that we were able to start our last season together like this. THIS IS OUR YEAR!!

why tuesdays

Can we all just agree that Tuesdays are really hard? I'm not joking you guys, Tuesdays are a major struggle for me.
The only thing that's good about Tuesdays is pretty little liars. And I don't even watch PLL on Tuesday! (Sweet hallelujah for DVR is all I'm sayin')

They're just a second Monday pretty much.
No hope of being close to the weekend, no motivation for a great week (used all that up yesterday), wearing jeans is the most uncomfortable thing in the world on a Tuesday, AND no soccer.

See what I'm getting at? WHY TUESDAYS? That's what I'm getting at.

And here I am, hanging out in my English class, supposed to be paying attention to gullivers travels on the tv. But nope. The lights are off, I'm back in the corner all comfy, and blogging on my phone to keep myself awake.

(My teacher just got mad at my buddy for having her phone out. She's practically blind to the fact that I'm always on my phone when the lights go out. I could probably wave my phone in her face and she wouldn't notice. Not complaining).

So anyways... Sorry for this negative post about a day of the week. I bet everyone hates Tuesdays though. Poor day, probably just wants someone to love it. But that someone ain't gonna be me.

Yay for hating Tuesdays. And yay for blind teachers so I can update my blog during class.

Don't do drugs. Don't put forks in the microwave. And always turn in math assignments.

Peace out.

i guess i better start practicing

Say hello to the new Relief Society pianist.
WHAT. THE. HECK.
I have a calling guys.
Is it weird?
Yes.
Do I like it?
I don't know yet.
When was the last time I legitimately practiced piano?
Ummm... 8th grade I think.
SO unprepared to take this on.
But I don't even care because, to be completely honest, I'm really excited.
I love music.
And I love the idea that I could maybe have some influence on someone by being forced to share my talent every Sunday.
I don't know how much influence a few hymns of prelude is really gonna do, but once again, I don't care.
I'm pretty stoked to be in the old lady class with my mom now. Officially.
Man... I'm doing all sorts of growing up over here.
It's a wonderful life.

Now I'm going to go practice the grand total of five hymns I know really well.
Then maybe I'll add a sixth.
But I probably won't because I don't want to get too far ahead of myself.
After all... it is only the first Sunday of this new job.

Wish me luck chumps.

signing day, whaaaaat???

Yesterday was a monumental day. (kind of) Abbie and I signed our lives away to officially become collegiate athletes!! Wahoooo!!! I was soooo happy all day and constantly smiling so much my cheeks hurt.

A year and a half ago, Abbie and I were both in a tough place. We were really struggling with our soccer team and doubting our abilities A LOT. After a huge heart to heart (and buckets of tears) we both decided that we loved soccer more than anything, and it would kill us if we had to stop in the near future. We made a pact right then and there that we would work our tails off, get recruited, and make it to college level soccer, together.
So here we are, a year and a half later, and we're doing it!
We are officially college athletes.
It blows my mind still.
I'm so thankful for Abbie and for her determination and the example she is to me. She's one of my best friends and I know I wouldn't have made it without her!

Now enjoy some pictures :)

^^i was the only one aware that a picture was being taken haha^^

^^abbie is a lot taller than me so this pic is mega awkward haha^^

Can I just tell you how lucky I am? Seriously, it's unreal.
I have THE best friends and family in the whole world. I'm so lucky that I'm surrounded by such amazing people who love and support me unconditionally.

I can't wait to move to Virginia to start my career as a college athlete. I know I'm going to have the time of my life! And good luck to Abbie! She's going to go so far in life and I'm excited to watch what happens to the both of us in the future.

Cheers to college. Cheers to signing day. Cheers to being an athlete. Cheers to friends and family.

AND CHEERS TO BEING AN OFFICIAL SVU KNICHT.
